We're Home

We came home from the hospital yesterday (Sat.) afternoon about 2 PM. Mom and baby are doing great. Eli came back home from his Nana and Pop's house yesterday and when we told him Riley was here to stay he said "uh oh". I think he is still getting used to the idea that he is a big brother. Here are some new pictures for you to enjoy I especially love the one above of me and my boys. Keep checking back for more updates.

Welcome To The World Riley Cooper

After about 2-3 weeks of holding off contractions Riley Cooper Vick came into the world at 1:13 PM September 10, 2008. He weighs 6 pounds 3 oz and is 19 inches long. Mom is doing and at this point Riley has some fluid still in his lungs but breathing on his own. He is also shaking pretty bad. They are monitoring him pretty closely right now. The are the best pictures I have for now, check back later for better pictures as we get them. Thank you to all of you for your prayers throughout Carrie's pregnancy.

Out of the Hospital for now

Well, its been crazy around here these past few days so I haven't been able to post recently. We are out of the hospital and at home now(as of Thursday afternoon). Carrie is on bedrest and taking medication here at the house to control her contractions. The doctor is trying to buy as much time as he can and we will go in for an appointment this Wednesday. It's looking like we might not make our September 22 scheduled c-section. So, for now everything is up in the air and we just taking it one day at a time. Thanks for your continued prayers.

Blessings,
Todd

Day 2

Well we made it through the night with some contractions the medicine is keeping them under control and making them less frequent. This morning we started a new pill that seems to be working better at controlling the contractions. We are going to be staying tonight and then re-evaluating in the morning. Whenever we get to go home Carrie will be on bed rest for at least week. That's all for now.

Contractions and more contractions

Just a quick update for everyone, Carrie started having contractions this morning at about 11:30 and after a quick doctors visit where we found out she was dialated to about 1 and it really was contractions she was having we ended up in the hospital this afternoon. The doctor is giving her medicine to stop the contractions as well as steroids to help the development of the baby's lungs. While the baby would be ok if he was born now the doctor really wants to wait as long as he can. It's now 11 PM and the first shot to stop the contractions lasted about 3 hours and ever since then the shots have been working for about an hour and a half. The next step is magnesum hopefully we won't have to go that route. Well, that all for now I'm going to try to get some sleep in that very uncomfortable looking chair in the corner. I'll post more tomorrow but for now keep us in your prayers.

update

It's been a while since I posted anything to this blog, so here is a quick update. The baby is doing fine and everything with Carrie's pregnancy is progressing well. The only issue that we are having is Carrie is experiencing some pain in her upper left hand side of her abdomen which the doctor believes is caused by scar tissue from her previous surgeries and there really isn't anything that can be done for that except to pain medication to manage the pain. So, your prayers are greatly appreciated to help Carrie handle the pain that at times is very excruciating. Other than this everything is going well and we are in the process of getting our house ready for a new member to our family. Eli will soon be moving into his new room once finish painting the razorback on the wall for his decorations and he will be moving up to a big boy bed which he is very excited about, then we must tackle getting the nursery ready. We can't wait for September when our new little boy will be welcomed to the world. Well that's all for now, I'll write more when there is more to write about. Thanks for all of your prayers and support.
